Summary
A light duty janitorial cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in designated areas by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, emptying trash bins, cleaning restrooms, and ensuring common areas are tidy. They support overall facility cleanliness and assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. Must follow company procedures and communicate clearly and promptly when required
Qualifications
Candidates should be detail-oriented with a basic understanding of industry standards and experience in performing various light-duty janitorial tasks. They must also have the ability to respond quickly and effectively to situations.
Duties
- High dusting
- Vacuuming
- Dusting /wiping
- Safe Handling of cleaning equipment and supplies
- Cleaning and wiping of mirrors, glass and chrome fixtures
- Polishing
- Disposal of Garbage.
- Washroom cleaning
- Light mopping and sweeping
- General janitorial duties
Physical Demands
While performing the essential functions of a light duty cleaner, typical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, bending, stooping, and reaching to clean surfaces, wiping, dusting, and scrubbing. They may also need to lift or carry light cleaning supplies and equipment, climb ladders or steps when necessary, and perform repetitive motions such as mopping or wiping.
Work Environment
Noise level is moderate, Personal Protective equipment must be worn when using cleaning chemicals. Non WHIMS products available. Indoor /Outdoorsetting, such as offices, restrooms, pooldecks, hallways, and public areas, often involving exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
