Summary
The operator is responsible for efficiently managing the loading and unloading activities at the dock, including handling and washing bins, waste management, and ensuring the safe and smooth transportation of bins. This role also involves janitorial tasks such as floor maintenance, wall cleaning, operating the cardboard machine, and assisting with chute cleaning. The ideal candidate will coordinate dock operations, maintain organization, and uphold safety standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse, logistics, or dock operation preferred but will train if required
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment (moving bins)
- Knowledge of service safety standards (will train)
- Good communication and reporting
- Physical ability to lift up to 20lbs and perform manual tasks
Duties
- High dusting
- Vacuuming
- Dusting /wiping
- Safe Handling of cleaning equipment and supplies
- Cleaning and wiping of mirrors, glass and chrome fixtures
- Polishing
- Disposal of Garbage.
- Washroom cleaning
- Light mopping and sweeping
- General janitorial duties
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Physical ability to lift carry up to 20lbs
- Walking for periods of time
- Operate heavy equipment
- Repetative movement of hand use
- Dispose of bulk garbage up to 20lbs
Work Environment
- Noise level is moderate to high
- Personal protective equipment must be worn when using cleaning chemicals or block noise
- Must have ability to work under minimal supervision

- Exposure to cold and warm weather
